The St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging is seeking volunteers to assist with their home-delivered meal program.
They need people to bring food to home-bound seniors in Brasher, Canton, DeKalb, Hermon, Russell, Edwards, Star Lake, Gouverneur, Fowler, Hailesboro, Morristown, Hammond, Potsdam, Norwood, Norfolk, Madrid, Waddington, Colton and South Colton.
Each week, approximately 350 people age 60 and over in St. Lawrence County receive a hot meal delivered to their doorstep.
“For many of them, it is the only meal they will have all day,” the Office for the Aging said in a statement. “The home delivered meals also provide older adults with a friendly visit and a daily check on his or her well-being.”
Those who want to volunteer can call Diana Dashnaw at 386-4730 or email ddashnaw@stlawco.org.
