MASSENA -- The Massena Lions Club members says its members were busy during September and have events planned through the end of fall.
During September, club members Linda Chase, Tammy Villnave and Kay Romeo did vision screening for Massena Head Start home-based children. Vision screening will continue during October and November at Nightengale, Madison, Jefferson, Trinity Catholic and Massena Nursery schools, the club said.
On Oct. 1, the Massena Lions were joined by district governor Mike Brennan, who inducted new member Julie Perrili.
On Oct. 4, Lions Darryl Chase, Linda Chase, Rick Esterline, Peter Tennis and Penny Pullmain, joined by Quad Town Lion Gail Murtaugh were at the Massena Home Depot for a safety day and offered free vision screening.
On Oct. 10, members were at the Massena Post Office as part of their White Cane Day. Through donations made there, the club will help a local child or adult in need of a pair of prescription glasses.
Election Day breakfast tickets are now available from all Lions members and will be available at the door. This event will be Nov. 4 at the First United Methodist Church, Main Street.
The club says they seek new members.
