OGDENSBURG -- With the help of NYSARC, Sandy Porter, former manager of the Ogdensburg GreenMarket, has scheduled a bus to pick seniors up each Friday in August and take them to the Canton Farmers’ Market.
The cost is $4 per trip.
Pickup will be at Riverview Towers, Centennial Terrace and Parkrise View.
This service is available for August only.
Departure times are: Riverview Towers 9:30 a.m., Centennial Terrace 9:35 a.m. and Parkrise View 9:40 a.m.
Porter says people should be ready to go 10 minutes before their departure time.
Buses will arrive at the Canton Farmers Market at 10:15 a.m. and leave an hour later.
A poster detailing this information will be posted at all three facilities.
People do not have to be a resident of Riverview, Centennial or Parkrise to take advantage of this bus.
People can sponsor one of the weekly trips for $60, which will allow 15 seniors to travel to the market. Those interested can call 386-2600.
