NYS Ombudsman Program seeks St. Lawrence County volunteers

Posted

The state Long Term Care Ombudsman Program is seeking volunteers.

An ombudsman volunteer visits with nursing and adult homes and establishes relationships with residents to ensure their rights are not being violated.

It requires about four hours per week.

Their goal is to improve the residents' overall quality of life and advocate on their behalf to solve problems they can't on their own.

The New York State Ombudsman Program will train and certify all volunteers, and also offer on-going training and support.

Call 393-2255 for more information or to request an application and interview.
