POTSDAM – Groundbreaking for riverside enhancements in the village takes place Wednesday with New York Secretary of State Cesar Perales and Potsdam Mayor Steven W. Yurgartis in attendance.
The Ives Park Access Enhancement Project includes design and construction of a new riverwalk, enhancements to the canoe and kayak launch, and other improvements to the park, financed as part of grants totaling $490,533 from the New York Department of State Environmental Protection Fund-Local Waterfront Revitalization Program.
The improvements are aimed at providing new opportunities for residents to enjoy the Raquette River waterfront, as well as enhance tourism along the river.
Also among the officials at the groundbreaking will be of Clarkson University President and Co-Chair of the North Country Regional Economic Development Council Tony Collins.
