NORWOOD -- Save the Fountain has one more week to raise money through their AdirondackGives.org campaign for restoration costs to the Norwood School fountain.

So far $3,525 has been raised toward the goal of $5,000.

“The excitement from the community has been overwhelming and everyone’s support has been instrumental in setting the stage for the restoration work to begin,” a press release said. “We are hopeful others will join in making a donation, big or small, to cover all restoration expenses.

The Save The Fountain group wished to extend thanks to Clarkson University President Tony Collins at for his support in continuing the relationship between Clarkson and Norwood by working together on another community project.

In 2012, Clarkson University worked with the Mayor of Norwood, Jim McFaddin, in discovering watermilfoil on Norwood Lake. Collins provided Save The Fountain with engineering expertise to work in conjunction with masons to get the fountain up and running.

The campaign is live at https://adirondackgives.org/volunteer/campaigns/save-the-fountain/.

Save the Fountain is also selling commemorative t-shirts. The deadline for orders is Sept. 30. Anyone interested should contact Terri Sharlow Clemmo at 842-9692. The t-shirt order form is also available on Save The Fountain Facebook page.

Save The Fountain was founded in May 2016 and has been working with the Village of Norwood, local community members and businesses, local media, as well as many alumni from Norwood School and Norwood-Norfolk Central School to support the fundraising and marketing of Save The Fountain.
