NORWOOD -- A group of Norwood residents seeking donations to restore the historic fountain at the former Norwood Union/Grade School has exceeded its original goal but hopes for more donations for extra work.

Save The Fountain’s effort on Adirondack Gives has about three weeks left to raise the money needed for complete restoration of the fountain.

Save The Fountain Project is live at https://adirondackgives.org/campaigns/save-the-fountain/.

The campaign has raised $2,109 as of Thursday, and is still looking for donations beyond the original $2,000 goal to cover the undetermined costs of the electrical and plumbing work required, as well as any unforeseen costs.

After restoration of the fountain, Save The Fountain looks forward to Phase II – creating a park, with the iconic fountain returning as the focal point the community once enjoyed.

People are encouraged to join the Save The Fountain Facebook group.
