STOCKHOLM – A Norwood woman has been charged with texting while driving and drunk driving after her car sheared a utility pole in half, according to state police.
Victoria C. Middlemmiss, 23, of 466 County Route 48, was charged at 10:50 p.m. Thursday with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by alcohol, texting while driving, unsafe speed, and failure to keep right, police said.
She was traveling east on County Route 48 when she went off the north shoulder, struck small trees and then sheared the utility pole, police said.
She was released to a third party and is to face the charges in Town of Stockholm Court on Aug. 18, police said.
