Norwood Village Green halfway to fundraising goal; wants to buy new light equipment

NORWOOD -- The Norwood Village Green Concert Series is half way to their fundraising goal of $1,475 by May 2 to purchase lighting equipment.

Using Adirondack Gives, Adirondack Foundation’s crowd-funding site for nonprofits, community groups and municipalities, the group has raised 53 percent of their goal and officials hope the remaining $675 will be raised by the deadline.

Donations can be made by visiting www.nvgcs.org and clicking the link under the graphic. All donations are tax deductible.

The current project has been named “Let’s Complete Phase 2 of the Norwood Village Green Lighting Project”. This crowd-funding project will purchase one Altman Spectra LED 100 lighting instrument. When phase 2 is completed, the Norwood Village Green Concert Series will have replaced 12 Par 500 lighting instruments using 6000 watts with 10 LED lighting instruments using 1000 watts, and with a color controller to further enhance the performances for the Norwood Village Green Concert Series. It will do it in an efficient, cost-effective and low maintenance manner. There will be enough lighting capabilities to light up and enhance many varied concerts and productions for decades to come, said officials.

Founded in 1974, the Norwood Village Green Concert Series will present its 42nd annual season in 2015. Over the years the series has presented 713 concerts and festivals for an audience in excess of 569,000 and presented performers from every continent in an eclectic mix for audiences of all ages.
