NORWOOD – Norwood Village Green Concert Series has collected more than $40,000 in contribution this year in preparation of its 40th annual season.
The Corning Incorporated Foundation was the most recent contributor with a $2,000 donation.
The Corning foundation has been at supporter of the series for many years, allowing the series to present its wide ranging concert fare to its audiences in an outdoor community setting.
As the 2011-2012 fiscal year draws to a close, organizers have released a breakdown of the donations. Donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations totaled $16,330. Foundations contributed $5,500. The bucket passing raised $7,834.
In all the private sector contributions totaled $29,664.
Organizers said all of these donations exceeded the series budget goals.
This income was supplemented by some earned income and some public sector moneys from the Town of Potsdam, the Village of Norwood and the New York State Council on the Arts. Public sector contributions totaled $12,180.
