NORWOOD -- Norwood-Norfolk Central School third grader Codey Bond raised $1,135 in donations for Jump Rope for Heart.
The other two top collectors were Aiden Jackson, who raised $365, and Madison Carista, who raised $351.
The school's raised $5,888 total.
The fundraiser was organized by physical education teacher Becky Byrns.
The Jump Rope for Heart is a yearly American Heart Association awareness and fundraising event which is held at elementary schools.
By focusing on jump rope and related activities, the event teaches students and the audience how to live, eat and exercise to prevent heart disease and strokes.
As a fundraising event, Jump Rope for Heart has helped obtain donations to fund heart disease research for nearly 35 years.
