NORWOOD -- The first UpNComing Writers Award at the Northern New York Community Foundation was recently presented to Skylar Fetter, a 2017 graduate of Norwood-Norfolk Central School.
Author Marguerite “Peggy” Mooers of Potsdam sponsored of the scholarship. Mooers is the author of four novels, the most recent a crime thriller titled “Take My Hand.”
Skylar is attending Columbia University this fall, majoring in English.
Mrs. Mooers, an author and teacher, established the fund to provide an annual scholarship to St. Lawrence County high school graduates who are either pursuing studies in the fields of writing, literature or journalism and exhibit a passion and love of writing.
