Norwood-Norfolk-Raymondville Outreach preparing for holiday season's program

Posted

NORFOLK – The Norwood-Norfolk-Raymondville Outreach Program has succeeded because of the nature of the joint effort by the community and the Outreach Committee to ensure that less fortunate individuals have basic necessities throughout the holidays.

Through the generosity of the community, toys, food and clothes were distributed to 387 individuals, including 128 families and 147 children, just last year.

Items shared through the program include gifts of new and gently used toys for children and teens; Christmas food boxes of non-perishables, fresh fruits, vegetables and turkeys; and warm winter clothing of hats, mittens, coats and boots.

In the spirit of the season, the Norwood-Norfolk-Raymondville Outreach is asking for help in supporting neighbors in the community who will find it difficult to keep their families warm and comfortable this winter.

Donations, regardless of size, are encouraged and appreciated. The committee asks people to consider what you would be comfortable giving toward the program, including gifts of time or talent.

Donations can be mailed to Mickey McKenna, 43 Spring Street, Norwood, NY 13668.

Members of the Norwood-Norfolk-Raymondville Outreach Board include: Maurice and Laura Fullerton, Patricia Martin, Mary Jane Purves, Mickey McKenna, Lynda Sawyer, Marshall Smith, Sylvia Despaw, Carol Gladding, Mary Chris Jones, Judy Dufore, Barbara Lustyik, and Judy Chagnon.
