Fourth-graders at Norwood-Norfolk Central School and Massena's Trinity Catholic School received chokecherry tree seedlings as part of Alcoa's 10 Million Trees program in celebration of Arbor Day recently.
Launched in 1998, the goal of Alcoa's 10 Million Trees program is to plant 10 million trees by Alcoa employees and their families in Alcoa communities by 2020. Each April, Alcoa's Massena Operations distributes tree seedlings to its employees and to local elementary students as part of this program.
Over 33,000 tree seedlings have been distributed locally since the program
