NORWOOD -- Norwood-Norfolk Central School will be closed Monday June 4, as the district mourns the death and celebrates the life of former elementary principal Joanne Bigwarfe, who died Tuesday following a battle with cancer.
Bigwarfe, 43, was a Potsdam resident who worked at the Norwood-Norfolk for six years, serving two as elementary principal.
A middle school academic awards night for students in grades 7 and 8 that was scheduled for Monday, has been postponed until Tuesday, June 12, at 6 p.m.
Funeral services for Bigwarfe will be held Monday, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam, with Msgr. Robert Aucoin as celebrant.
Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Potsdam.
Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m. Saturday and 4-7 p.m. Sunday.
