NORWOOD -- Norwood-Norfolk Central School is seeking a new principal for their middle school for next year.
Jonathan Sovay, current middle school principal, will retire Sept. 27, according to NNCS Superintendent Jamie Cruikshank.
He spent 20 years in the district, 19 as a principal with the last 8 years at the middle school, Cruikshank said.
“We are advertising now and initial interviews will be done around the first week of March,” he said.
The Board of Education hopes to appoint someone to the position at their April BOE meeting, Cruikshank said.
“We have an extensive hiring process with committees and board involved,” he said.
Solvay will stay on in a support role early in the school year before retiring in late September, Cruikshank said.
“We wanted to start the new year with the person in place,” he said.
