CANTON -- David Wellings of Norwood is the winner of this year’s St. Lawrence NYSARC raffle’s top prize of $10,000.

NYSARC conducted its 32nd annual fundraiser Friday at the Best Western University Inn, Canton.

The agency sold 4,524 certificates for a gross profit of $28,590. They gave away 33 prizes .

The event was hosted by WWNY-TV’s Jeff Cole, the anchor of “7 News This Morning” and “7 News at Noon.”

St. Lawrence NYSARC’s Board of Directors President Patricia Campanella gave the opening comments for the evening. Ppresiding over the drawing were Mark Waterstram, C.P.A. from The Bonadio Group, and Victor Rycroft, Canton Village Police Department.

St. Lawrence NYSARC Executive Director Daphne Pickert expressed appreciation for the community’s support. “Proceeds from this event will benefit several programs that are not fully supported through other means including our art gallery, called G.O.A.L. (Gallery of Arts & Learning),” Pickert said. The gallery is on Main Street in Canton and features artwork created by people with disabilities. “This weekend, we are proud to be a featured stop on the Arts Council’s Studio Tour,” Pickert said.
