POTSDAM -- A Norwood man has been arrested for allegedly having forcible sexual contact with a female in a downtown parking lot.

After an investigation, Potsdam police arrested William C. White, 45, of Norwood, charging him with first-degree sexual abuse, a Class D felony.

Police said White forcibly subjected a female victim to sexual contact with his exposed penis in a village parking lot downtown.

White was arraigned Wednesday before Potsdam Village Justice Pignone and was released to the supervision of probation authorities.

He is due back in court Feb. 23.
