
POTSDAM -- A Norwood man accused of raping a helpless victim was released on his own recognizance Wednesday, according to Canton-based state police.
Andrew J. Regan, 29, of Norwood, was charged with first-degree rape after troopers said he allegedly had sexual intercourse with a person who was apparently incapable of providing consent due to being physically helpless.
The charge is a class B felony.
Troopers said the incident was reported in August of 2009.
Troopers said he was released on his own recognizance.
