NORWOOD – The Norwood Kiwanis Club is seeking the public’s help with its playground project.

The Kiwanis Club is currently in the running for a Kiwanis International grant which would provide funding for handicapped accessible equipment and playground updates to accommodate the children in the community who have special needs.

Through fundraising and donations handicapped accessible swings and a new ride have been added to the playground on the Norwood village green, said a press release from the club.

They have become very popular with the special needs children in the area, the club said. However, more equipment is needed for the village green site, and the club plans to provide handicapped accessible equipment for the Norwood Beach play area.

The first stage of the contest for the grant involves “voting” by members of the community, groups, organizations, etc. The club is asking for community support and votes.

To support this project, visit www.tinyurl.com/NorwoodNY and vote. Each person may vote once each day until the voting ends on May 31.

The club is asking members of the public to vote once a day and every day until May 31.
