Norwood Green Concert Series closer to goal of replacing old lights; 35 days left to raise what they need

NORWOOD -- The Norwood Village Green concert series will receive a $5,000 grant from the Northern New York Community Foundation to replace old lights for the band shell.

Four lights that are at least 24 years old we be replaced with new LED lighting. The grant also covers their installation cost.

Eight more lights will be replaced with LED technology in the near future, according to a news release, at an anticipated cost of $15,360.

The Norwood Village Green Concert Series is raising funds to through the Adirondack Community Foundation’s Adirondack Gives program to purchase two American DJ Par LED systems in 2014. These portable systems will provide eight more LED lights that will be used on the band shell and for the series’ primary rain-site, the municipal building. As of Wednesday 43 percent of the funds been raised within the 60-day time limit. There are 35 days left to raise the remainder.
