POTSDAM -- A nine-year old Norwood girl celebrated her birthday recently by giving to Potsdam Humane Society.
Vanessa Stanka celebrated her special day giving to others instead of receiving gifts for herself. She requested items to donate to the animal shelter.
She received dog and cat food, toys, treats and cleaning supplies for the shelter.
This is her second birthday that she has done this for the shelter. She likes to play music, dance and help others in need.
On Thursday she will make a delivery to St Vincent DePaul in Massena from a food collection she has been running for the last couple of months.
