NORWOOD -- The North Country Chapter of the American Red Cross provided immediate emergency aid to five following a fire Thursday night on State Highway 56.
The Red Cross provided temporary shelter and financial assistance for food and clothing, along with blankets and other cold weather supplies, to three adults and two children, ages 2 and 7.
Volunteers also supplied comfort kits containing basic personal care items and stuffed animals for the children. In the coming days, Red Cross staff and volunteers will remain available to help the family as they navigate the road to recovery.
