POTSDAM -- The Norwood Brass Firemen, the band of the Norwood Volunteer Fire Department, is returning to play at the Potsdam Rescue Squad's annual ice cream social after a lapse of a few years.

The social, now part of Potsdam's Summer Festival July 8-10, had been host to the Firemen for over 40 years, who played at the rescue squad event "to help the Potsdam Rescue Squad thank the Potsdam community for all of their support," said band leader Bob Haggett. But for several years, the band has not ben at the social.

They will return for the event this year, in the parking lot behind Community Bank on Market Street on Thursday evening, July 8, from 7 to 9 p.m., right after the Tour de Potsdam running race finishes up there.

"The Norwood Brass Firemen are proud to be able to support once again a great team of professionally trained volunteers who help us in time of need," said Haggett.
