NORWOOD -- Author Timothy Simcox of Norwood has penned a novel and is seeking artists from around the world to bring his characters from the novel to life.

Simcox, who writes under the penname T.R. Simcox, unearths the legend of Ferguson in his novel, Ferguson: The King Fergus Version.

Simcox created the Muse National Art Contest that began March 20 to enlist artists from across the country, in the pursuit of bringing his characters from his novel to visual life. The Muse National Soundtrack Contest will kickoff in late summer on the heels of the filming of his first movie.

To enter the contest, participants must be in the ninth grade or above, pay a $25 registration fee and read the book to create characters based on what they've read. There is the potential to win $500, have artwork viewed nationally, and in a published book compiled of all of the winner’s work, and have the created character(s) transformed onto a full-length feature film and will be seen in an extensive advertising campaign

Simcox says he wrote Ferguson: The King Fergus Version in a four-year period from pages accumulated by his bedside-with barely legible scrawling, after fighting through one tormented night’s sleep after another. Simcox’s main character Ferguson embodies all of what society conceives as evil, and even more that had not been realized. Reader’s young and aged, have been mentally and spiritually shaken to their core.

Amazon.com describes the book as: “The Legend of Ferguson comes alive on these pages written by author T.R. Simcox. Tenth century Ireland is where our tale begins. All that we know or have been told about evil is only the prelude to what is real. Ferguson entered this world only to change it forever and not for the betterment of mankind. Since this time, story after story has been told about characters embodying some of the traits of Ferguson. None of them have even come close. They are all but servants to the one and only Ferguson. So, as you read remember one thing, mankind has never been set free of his grasp.”

CreateBook’s author manager, “Patrick” stated in a personal email to author Simcox, “As I was converting your PDF to E-book I began reading it. I was so enthralled in the pages; I completed it later that day. Fantastic! I’m impressed. This is really your first book? Wow! Where can I get a hard copy and would you sign it? Thanks for having us involved.”

Ferguson: The King Fergus Version by T.R. Simcox was self-published in January 2015 by Ferguson Publishing. E-book versions can be purchased for $9.99, paperback for $13.99 and leather hardcover for $39.99 at http://ferguson1000.com/the-book.
