MASSENA -- A North Lawrence woman has been charged with third-degree grand larceny with cash from a fraudulent check she allegedly moved through two accounts to pay a credit card bill.
Massena police allege Melisa L. Lashomb, 47, of State Rt. 11C, deposited a fraudulent check Sept. 8 into a new IRA account at the Twin Rivers Credit Union in September, transferred the money to her personal checking account, and then paid a credit card balance from the checking account.
The amount of money in question is $4,288, according to Massena police.
Lashomb was arraigned on the felony charge before Judge Sharlow in Village Court. She was represented by Assistant Public Defender Daniel Ramsey.
She was released to the supervision of the Probation Dept., Massena Police said.
