AKWESASNE -- Scott Villnave of North Lawrence won nearly $50,000 in the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino’s Bad Beat Jackpot Sunday night.
The jackpot has been growing since the game was started nine months ago. His $49,489.80 win was half of the total $98,979.60 jackpot.
Asked what he will use the money for, Villnave said, “I’d like to do some home renovations. I really would like to put down hardwood floors” in his Winthrop-area home.
In addition to Villnave’s win, another local, Donald Chapin, walked away with 25 percent of the overall jackpot, making him $24,744.90 richer.
The remaining 25 percent of the jackpot was divided among the other players at the table.
