FC Freeze U14G (10-0) clinched the Northern New York Youth Soccer League Championship this past weekend with a convincing 4-0 victory over second place Upstate United SC Fury (6-2).
Freeze dominated the game with 17 shots on goal to Fury’s three.
Freeze scored their first goal at 8:46, when Katie Cowen (Potsdam) was near the sideline and chipped a long ball inside the 6 to Sophia Janoyan (Potsdam). She one-touched the ball past the keeper's right shoulder.
Janoyan scored again 13 minutes later with a long run on net. She juked the goalie inside the 18 and made a strong shot in between the posts.
At 28:20, Cowen made a killer pass to Olivia Mace (Canton) who dribbled by defenders and scored with a shot by the right post.
In the second half Freeze scored again at 15:30, when Janoyan rifled a centering pass to Cowen who one-touched a low ball inside the left post.
Shaq Jackson was in the crease for the win saving all three shot on net. Playing outstanding defense in the backfield were Natalie Cowen, Gabrielle Kroeger, Abby Lamica, and Jade Summers and Karli Thompson. Freeze midfielders Jordyn Holbrook, Nika Husinec, Olivia Mace, Lou Moosbrugger, Della Pena controlled the pace of the game and made many killer chip shots.

Playoffs will be in Watertown at their YMCA/Fairgrounds Saturday, July 23.
