We're in for a mixed weather bag over the next couple of days as temperatures begin to rise to unseasonably warm levels.
The National Weather Service says that a warm front pushing through the Northeast will continue to drop some light snow on the North Country today. Some dry weather is expected for the weekend, though some periods of light precipitation, including snow and rain, are possible across the North Country tonight through Saturday.
Temperatures will be above normal levels today and Saturday, and return to normal for Sunday before rising again.
Keeping in mind that temperatures are likely to be lower and snow amounts could be higher in over the higher elevations in southern portions of St. Lawrence County, the NWS forecast follows:
Today: A chance of snow showers, mainly before 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 37. South wind between 7 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tonight: A chance of snow showers before 11pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 33. Southwest wind between 10 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Saturday: A chance of rain and snow showers before noon, then a slight chance of rain showers between noon and 3pm, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 41. West wind between 13 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Saturday Night: A slight chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 16. West wind between 10 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Sunday: A slight chance of snow showers before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 22. West wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12.
Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 30.
Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35.
Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 36.
Wednesday Night: A chance of freezing rain. Cloudy, with a low around 29. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Thursday: Rain and snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
