North Country weather: Cool temps, occasional showers through early Sunday

Posted

Cloudy skies, cool temperatures along with periodic showers will continue to be the rule through early Sunday, according to the revised National Weather Service forecast.

The latest radar observations show a band of showers moving into the St. Lawrence Valley now, but no heavy rain from it is expected.

Temperatures will be in the mid-30s to mid-40s through Sunday night, when skies are expected to clear and temperatures will drop into the 20s.

As temps cool, the likelihood of some snow increases, especially in the higher elevations to the south of St. Lawrence County.’

Fair and dry weather are expected to return by early next week as cool high pressure from Canada builds into the region. The chances of rain or snow then increase again by Wednesday into Thursday as a potential coastal storm develops and pushes north into the region.
