North Country Sen. Patty Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, joined leaders from across New York State on Wednesday to officially kick-off the Great New York State Fair in Syracuse.
“The Great New York State Fair is one of our biggest—and best—state traditions, offering everything from world-class entertainment and local foods to exhibits that highlight our agriculture industry and so much more,” said Senator Ritchie, who serves as a member of the State Fair Task Force.
“I am encouraging New Yorkers of all ages to visit the Great New York State Fair, which promises to offer fun for every member of the family.”
During her visit to the Great New York State Fair, Senator Ritchie—who serves as Chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee—visited a number of attractions highlighting our state’s agriculture industry, including maple and apple exhibits, among others.
Last year, the Great New York State Fair drew a record 1,117,630 to the region. This year’s event runs through Monday, Sept. 4.
