New York State Assembly District 116 candidate Mark Walczyk announced he has received support from numerous female elected officials in his bid to represent the “River District” in the state Assembly.

Women elected officials that have endorsed Mark Walczyk include Congresswoman, Elise Stefanik; NY Senator, Patty Ritchie; NY Senator, Betty Little; St. Lawrence County Clerk Mary Lou Rupp; Massena Town Clerk/Registrar, Pamela A Catanzarite; and other outside St. Lawrence County in the district.

“To say that I’m humbled to receive the support from so many community leaders is an understatement,” said Mark Walczyk. “If elected, I look forward to working alongside these dedicated women, continuing to build relationships and work across the aisle to better the ‘River District’ and build a brighter future for families across St. Lawrence and Jefferson Counties.”

In addition to these endorsers, he has also been endorsed by Unshackle Upstate, NFIB, the Business Council, and the NRA.

In 2015, Mark was elected to the Watertown City Council. Until recently, he served as District Director to State Senator Patty Ritchie.

Walczyk is the Republican, Conservative, Independence, and Reform Party candidate in his challenge to 10-year incumbent Assemblywoman Addie Jenne in the 116th Assembly District. The “River District” includes the cities of Ogdensburg and Watertown, as well as the towns of Alexandria, Antwerp, Brownville, Canton, Cape Vincent, Clayton, DePeyster, Hammond, Hounsfield, Lisbon, Louisville, Lyme, Macomb, Massena, Morristown, Orleans, Oswegatchie, Pamelia, Philadelphia, Potsdam, Rossie, Theresa and Waddington.

"His record of leadership in the Army Reserve and in our community proves that Mark will be a fighter for Northern New York in Albany," said Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.

“I’ve known Mark for nearly a decade and I have no doubt he will be a tireless advocate for Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties,” said Senator Patty Ritchie. “I look forward to working with Mark in Albany to make sure that key investments are made in our region that will foster economic growth and keep the North Country thriving for years to come.”

“Mark’s passion is serving others, whether as a member of our armed forces, a locally elected public official and as an aide to Senator Patty Ritchie in the State Senate, where I have come to know him,” said Senator Betty Little. “He is a true leader. He is dedicated to helping others. He is committed to making our North Country communities more affordable for businesses and for families. And that’s why I am endorsing him in the race for State Assembly.”

Walczyk is a member of New Life Christian Church, a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow, an Eagle Scout, American Legion Boy’s State attendee and a 4-time Ironman Triathlete.
