North Country Rep. Stefanik endorses Massena Town Supervisor Joseph Gray in his bid for a third term

MASSENA – North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, a Republican, is endorsing Massena Town Supervisor Joseph Gray in his bid for a third term.

Democrat Steve O’Shaughnessy, who is now a town councilman, is challenging incumbent Gray.

“Voters in the Town of Massena have a great opportunity to continue moving forward with an experienced, dedicated public official like Joe Gray and I am happy to give him my endorsement,” Stefanik said in a prepared statement. “Joe is a creative, hardworking leader who is not afraid to question the status quo and chart of a new course. It was evident in his work promoting the world class fishing on the St. Lawrence River and its tributaries. The changes he brought to town government and his work with neighboring communities as chairman of the Local Government Task Force are examples for any local government officials to follow.

“Effective politicians listen to their constituents, gather the facts and make informed decisions. These are pages right out of Joe’s playbook. He understands and is knowledgeable about how government works in Albany and Washington, D.C.”

“Also, he knows that if Massena and its neighbors need help on the federal level, I am just a phone call away. As I work to represent the people of the 21st Congressional District, I look to leaders like Joe to give me valuable information and serve as a conduit for the people he represents.”

“I encourage voters in the Town of Massena to vote for Joe Gray on Nov. 7,” she said.
