North Country Regional Economic Development Council meets to identify 2013 projects

The North Country Regional Economic Development Council will meet Thursday, April 11 to work on their 2013 submission of plans for projects and programs.

The North Country council is co-chaired by Clarkson University President Tony Collins and North Country Chamber of Commerce President Garry Douglas.

The public session will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. at Fort Drum.

Everyone – individuals, and people from businesses, organizations, labor and education from St. Lawrence, Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lewis counties are welcome to attend.

The North Country council has had success in the first two years of competitive face-offs for millions of dollars in state aid.

The North Country application for 2011 earned the NCREDC a “Best Plan” award and a higher level of funding than other regional competitors.

The North Country Council was given a “Top Performer Award” for its progress in implementing the $103 million 2011 plan, earning another enhanced award of $90.2 million in 2012.

The meeting will be at The Commons, P-4350 Euphrates River Valley Road, Fort Drum, N.Y.

A valid driver’s license or state-issued ID, vehicle registration, and vehicle insurance are required to enter Fort Drum.
