The North Country Library System will receive $1,700 from the Northern New York Community Foundation’s latest round of grant awards.
This was one of three grants in the foundation’s wrapping up if its grant cycle for 2012.
The funds for the North Country Library System will support the purchase of reusable mailing bags for people in St. Lawrence, Jefferson and Lewis counties who would otherwise be unable to access library materials.
The other two grants in this round were to Lewis County schools to allow them to provide winter clothing for those in need, and for upgrading the fitness trail at Watertown’s Thompson Park.
The Watertown-based NNYCF makes grants to support the work of non-profit organizations and provides scholarships to individuals in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties.
