A large storm is producing a mix of wintry precipitation this morning, which will turn to rain this afternoon and then to snow tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

The strong storm system will continue to produce widespread rain and mixed precipitation today, persisting through Saturday night, while winds today could gust as high as 45 mph on the western slopes of the Adirondacks.

High temperatures today and Saturday are expected to be in the 30s before they plunge Saturday night into the teens with wind chill below zero.
