COLTON -- North Country designer Mary G. Holland of MaryGwyneth LLC Fine Wearable Art was selected from among nearly 1,000 applicants to participate in the 16th annual Paradise City Arts Festival.
The festival will be held at the Royal Plaza Trade Center in Marlborough, Mass. March 22, 23 and 24.
Only 175 artists were selected from the nearly 1000 applications submitted in October. Applications were judged for imagination, technical excellence, design and originality.
Holland designs wearable art and crafted clothing, often featuring three dimensional or hand dyed surface embellishment. Some of Holland’s fiber art pieces include silk scarves and wraps, silk headbands and hair fascinators, handbags, tailored jackets, fine gowns and evening or bridal wear.
Two of Holland’s designs received nominations in 2010 and 2012 for the NICHE Awards.
Her work is on display at her website, Etsy.com/MaryGwyneth, and at the St. Lawrence Valley Arts Council.
