North Country Democratic congressional candidate raised $460,000 for campaign in July, August, Sept.

Democrat Mike Derrick of Peru, congressional candidate in New York’s 21st district, says his campaign raised over $460,000 in contributions over the months of July, August, and September.

The new fundraising total is $100,000 more than what Derrick raised in the second quarter of 2016, and over three times more than he raised in the first quarter of 2016.

In total, the campaign has now amassed 2,070 contributors. A majority of contributions come from within NY-21, and 84 percent of them are from grassroots small-dollar donations of less than $100. 70 percent of the campaign’s total contributions are less than $100.

“I am so proud to have a grassroots campaign powered by the North Country,” Derrick said. “The wind is unquestionably moving in our direction, and as we swing into the last month of the campaign, I’m confident we have what it takes to win and give this district the kind of real, proven leadership it needs right now.”

Derrick also reached a huge milestone this quarter by reaching nearly $1,100,000 raised since the campaign was launched last July. Derrick’s campaign currently has over $360,000 cash on hand.
