A strong area of high pressure is sitting on top of the North Country, and will provide mostly sunny days and clear nights through the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will be near seasonal levels for mid-November, in the mid-40s during the day and the mid-20s at night.

With the high pressure pretty stable, winds will be light through the period.

The forecast for the St. Lawrence Valley and northwestern Adirondacks:

This Afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 44. North wind around 5 mph.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 24. Light northeast wind.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 20. Calm wind.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 42. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the morning.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 25.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 45.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 25.
