Member of Parliament Gord Brown met with Assemblywoman Russell at the Ag Summit in Lansdowne, Ont.

Assemblywoman Addie Jenne Russell, D-Theresa, a member of the New York State Assembly's Agriculture Committee, attended an agriculture summit in Landsdowne, Ont. on Dec. 9 to get an understanding of agriculture issues and agricultural tourism opportunities in neighboring southern Ontario.

Russell represents the Assembly’s “River District,” which includes all the St. Lawrence County towns along the St. Lawrence River, plus Ogdensburg, the towns of Canton, Potsdam, Rossie, Macomb, and DePeyster, and part of Jefferson County.

The summit was sponsored by Economic Development Committee (EDC) of Leeds and the Thousand Islands, Ont.

The assemblywoman was invited to the summit last month when she attended the 1,000 Islands Bi-National Tourism Summit in Clayton.

Russell had secured state funding for that event.
