MASSENA -- A Norfolk resident is charged for allegedly trying to thwart police from arresting a man on outstanding burglary and robbery warrants.
Elizabeth K. Wickwire, 30, of State Route 310, Norfolk, is charged with third-degree hindering prosecution.
Chief Adam Love said police stopped her and a man on Railroad Street around 1:36 a.m. Sunday, and the man took off. She allegedly lied to officers about the man’s identity.
He turned out to be Jason Smith, 40, who was wanted on outstanding warrants for a burglary in Plattsburgh and an armed robbery of a liquor store in Tupper Lake.
She is to appear in court on a later date.
