MASSENA -- A Norfolk teen was sent to Canton jail Wednesday on $5,000 bail after he allegedly stole a .22 caliber rifle and traded it for a marijuana plant.
Massena-based state police charged Eligjah N. Rousset, 17, with fourth-degree grand larceny and unlawful growing of cannabis.
Troopers say Rousett a Mossberg .22 caliber rifle from a residence on River Road in Norfolk, and traded it for a marijuana plant.
Rousett was processed in Massena and arraigned in the Town of Norfolk Court before Town Justice Grubee.
Rousett was jailed on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
