NORWOOD -- The Norwood-Norfolk-Raymondville Outreach Program raised $2,400 toward a $2,500 match neighborhood challenge issued by a Norfolk man.
The program was challenged by John Wing of Norfolk to raise $2,500. Wing donated $2,500 to the program’s food pantry, and pledged to match up to another $2,500 if the program could raise the money by Christmas Day.
“In approximately ten days, ending on Christmas day, we were able to raise an additional $2,400 to be used for our Christmas program” during the match challenge, said Judith Dufore, president of the outreach program.
The funds will be used to fund baskets for the 2014 Christmas season.
