NORFOLK — A Norfolk man was jailed after fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle and on foot Sunday afternoon, according to state police.
Troopers said they initiated a traffic stop for illegal window tint on a 2004 Dodge Intrepid that was operating north on State Route 56.
The driver failed to comply and was pursued by the trooper from the area of the Woodchop Shop in Norfolk to 657 River Rd. in Norfolk where the man fled on foot.
The trooper was able to take the subject into custody a short distance later.
Jeffrey P. Gagnon, 39, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation: three or more suspension, third-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana and numerous other traffic violations, officers said.
He was arraigned in Norfolk court by Justice Grubee and remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail on $1,000 bail or $1,500 bond.
He is to appear in Norfolk court Nov. 9 at 9 a.m., officers said.
