NORFOLK -- A Norfolk man is jailed on drug- and domestic violence-related offenses after he allegedly strangled a female and forced her into a car against her will.
Chase R. Baxter, 23, of 3443 State Rte. 310 is charged with unlawful imprisonment, criminal obstruction of breathing, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument, all misdemeanors. He is also charged with second-degree harassment, county sheriff deputies said.
Baxter allegedly choked the unidentified female on Friday. He then allegedly forced her into a vehicle against her will. Deputies tracked down the car and after searching it, they say they found a hypodermic needle and a crack pipe.
Baxter was arraigned in Norfolk Town Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $300 bail with an order of protection in favor of the alleged victim, deputies said.
