NORWOOD – The Norwood-Norfolk-Raymondville Outreach Program has been challenged to raise $2,500 by Christmas Day to match a donor’s gift.
John Wing, a Norfolk native, has donated $2,500 to the program’s food pantry and has laid out a challenge for them to raise as much money as possible, and Wing will match that up to another $2,500.
The NNRO is asking help from the public and neighbors to reach that goal. They say they know money is tight for a lot of people, but if those who can will contribute, it will make a big difference to those who cannot.
Donations can be sent to Mickey McKenna, 43 Spring St., Norwood, NY 13668 before Christmas.
This year, due to the generosity of the community, the NNRO has been able to serve 149 families with a total of 460 individuals, including 196 children.
They anticipate numbers as high or higher next year.
