STOCKHOLM — A Norfolk man was charged with driving while intoxicated following after rolling his vehicle during an accident on County Route 47 Wednesday evening, according to state police.
Police said they responded to a report of a one-vehicle rollover accident around 5:15 p.m. and upon investigation discovered Jeremy J. O’Leary, 33, to be the driver.
Police said he was northbound on CR 47 in a gray Honda Accord when he swerved to miss a deer and exited the roadway striking an earth embankment causing the vehicle to roll over twice before coming to a rest on the passenger side of the vehicle.
O’Leary was able to get out of the vehicle following the crash.
O’Leary was charged with first-offense DWI and failure to keep right at 6:18 p.m.
He consented to a blood-alcohol content test.
O’Leary was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for chest pain.
Tri-Town Rescue and the West Stockholm Fire Department were on scene.
He was released on appearance tickets returnable to Stockholm court Dec. 7.
