MADRID – A Norfolk man is accused of falsifying business records that benefited him to the tune of $2,503.80 at the expense of a Madrid business.
Joseph W. McGregor, 25, 1552 County Rt. 38, Norfolk, was charged by St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies with fourth-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records, both felonies, after their investigation into a complaint last month from Wayne’s Salvage in Madrid.
Deputies allege McGregor altered receipts for materials received, netting him more than $2,500 he was not entitled to.
McGregor was arraigned in Potsdam Town Court and released to supervision by the Probation Department.
He is to be in Madrid Town Court June 13.
