NORFOLK --The Norfolk Rod and Gun Clubs junior archery league wound up their 2014 season with a fun shoot on March 21 and an awards banquet on March 22.
There were 28 participants in this year’s league and each archer became more proficient as the season progressed.
“The kids were enthusiastic and dedicated to learning the sport of archery,” said Sandi Cockayne, who submitted the photo.
This year’s winners in each class were: Youth 20 yards – Kieran Matthis – 255, Youth Traditional - Setcher Krywanczyk – 190, Cubs 20 yds - Megan Ashley – 268, Cubs 10 yd - Holden Hewlett – 245, Holden was also the recipient of the Order of the Robin Hood award, Pee Wee’s 10 yds – Dylan LaMora – 222, Pee Wee’s 5 yd – James Wilson – 175, Pee Wee 5 yd Traditional – Joey Perry – 135. Most Improved: Youth - Margaret Doty, Cubs – Mark Matthews, Pee Wee 10 yd – Julien Wenzel, Pee Wee 5 yds – Joey Perry.
