No charges filed yet, investigation continuing into fatal two-vehicle Gouverneur crash; victims identified

GOUVERNEUR – No charges have been filed yet, but the investigation is continuing into a two-vehicle fatal accident Tuesday night on County Rt. 12 that claimed the life of a Gouverneur woman.

State police report the deceased is Stacy L. Justice, 31, Gouverneur.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle in which she was a passenger was Dustin M. Maloy, 23, Gouverneur, who was traveling west on Rt. 12 at 7:29 p.m. when he lost control on a curve.

Maloy's vehicle began to slide and was struck on the passenger side by a vehicle traveling east that was operated by Mallory S. Haynes, 24, Ogdensburg.

Maloy and Justice were transported to E.J. Noble Hospital where Justice was pronounced dead on arrival. Maloy was treated for internal injuries and later transferred to University Hospital in Syracuse for further treatment.

Haynes was transported to E.J. Noble Hospital where she was treated and released. Her passenger, Michael S. Walsh, 24, Redwood, was also transported to the hospital for an examination and released.

The Troop "B" Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Canton are continuing their investigation.
